Recently retired former Christian County Attorney Mike Foster recently received the 2019 Bill Franklin Volunteer of the Year Award by the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education and a reception was held in his honor Tuesday.
The reception was held at Hopkinsville Community College, of which Foster is a graduate and staunch supporter—as proven by the award that recognizes his service and dedication to the college. HCC President Dr. Alissa Young says Foster’s impacts on HCC are too numerous to name.
Foster says he has always felt driven to help in fundraising efforts for the college to help students further their education—much as he did by being the first in his family to graduate from college—as quality education can transform a person’s life.
He urged others to aid the college in what ways they can, as education is key to living the best life possible.
Foster was selected from nominees across the southeastern United States, competing with four-year, two-year and private institutions across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
