Southbound motorists on the Pennyrile Parkway in northern Christian County should allow some extra time today as they will be diverted onto US 41 at the Mannington exit.
A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to temporarily divert south traffic on the Pennyrile Parkway at approximately 9 a.m. and the diversion will likely remain in place until about noon.
Drivers headed south will be diverted off at the U.S. 41 Mannington Exit 30 Interchange to follow U.S. 41 South to the MLK Bypass in Hopkinsville to return to the Pennyrile Parkway southbound lanes at Exit 11. The southbound entry ramp at the KY 800 Crofton Exit 23 Interchange will also be closed while southbound traffic is being diverted.
The diversion is to facilitate the repair of an end treatment on the barrier wall near the 19 mile-marker at the start of two-way traffic in the ongoing work zone.
There should be no impact on northbound traffic at this site.
