Madisonville won its 23rd consecutive game in defeating Lincoln County 57-49. Kenny White led the Maroons with 23 points while K’Suan Casey added 11 points and 12 rebounds as Madisonville improved to 30-5. The nightcap went to Warren Central who cruised by Mayfield 73-55. The Dragons are 21-11 on the season while Mayfield concludes its season 25-8.
Earlier in the day, top ranked Scott County had to fight for its life in a 64-61 win over Covington Catholic. The Cardinals led 60-41 with 1:34 remaining in the game before Covington Catholic mounted a comeback and almost pulled the upset. In the other afternoon game, Butler had to go to overtime to hold off Perry County Central 65-62.
Today’s Games: Quarterfinal action has Walton-Verona meeting Campbell County in the first game of the afternoon session beginning at 11 am followed by Trinity meeting Ashland Blazer.
