Pendleton County’s Dontaie Allen was named Kentucky Mr. Basketball last night. Allen, who suffered a knee injury in December, played just 13 games in his senior season and was averaging 43 points per game at the time of his injury. He has signed with the University of Kentucky.
Boyd County’s Savannah Wheeler was named Kentucky Miss Basketball. Wheeler is averaging 30.5 points per game and will play in the Girls Sweet 16 next week as Boyd County faces Male in its opening round game at Rupp Arena.
