A Hopkinsville is facing her third DUI charge along with first-degree wanton endangerment after she allegedly crashed a vehicle she was operating while an 8-year old child was a passenger.
According to the Hopkinsville police report, officers were called to the area of West 14th Street and South Main Street for reports of a collision. Upon arrival, contact was made with 35-year old Ladonna Childers of Hopkinsville, who was reportedly manifestly under the influence and had a strong smell of alcohol and marijuana on her person. She had allegedly rear-ended another vehicle that was stopped at the intersection for a red light.
There was reportedly an 8-year old child riding in Childers’ vehicle. Childers performed poorly on field sobriety tests and allegedly blew a .212 on a Breathalyzer test. She denied consuming anything before driving.
No one was injured in the wreck and the 8-year old was taken by a family member.
Childers is charged with third-offense DUI and first-degree wanton endangerment.
