MLB Roundup: Gray won’t make start for Reds/Swanson to miss some time for Braves

The Cincinnati Reds were to start off season acquisition Sonny Gray in their Cactus League opener against the Cleveland Indians tomorrow. However, Gray has been scrapped due to stiffness in his right elbow. Tanner Roark, another off season acquisition, will make the start.

Don’t look for Atlanta Braves shortstop Dansby Swanson to be on the field for a bit. He will miss the early portion of Grapefruit League play as he continues to recover from wrist surgery in November. Swanson is expected to be ready to go by Opening Day. The Braves open Grapefruit League play tomorrow against the New York Mets.
