8th district boys: Christian County edges Hoptown/UHA routs Fort Campbell

Christian County senior Fred Tandy scored the last five points in the last 22 seconds of the game as the Colonels edged Hopkinsville 57-54. The Colonels were down 54-52 before Tandy drained a three point shot to give the Colonels the lead, then he stole the inbound pass with four seconds left and scored to seal the win.

Tandy led Christian County with 16 points followed by Eric Brody with 12 and Stephon Bussell added 11 as the Colonels evened their record at 15-15.

Hopkinsville got 15 points from James Nicholas, with Don Victor adding 11 and Jacarius Burks pitched in 10 as the Tigers finished the season 16-14.

In the other semifinal, University Heights routed Fort Campbell 78-32. KyKy Tandy had 26 points with Drew McGowan adding 24 as the Blazers improved to 27-4. Cameron Johnson led Fort Campbell with 11 points as the Falcons finish the season 5-21.

Christian County and University Heights will play in the championship game tomorrow night at 8 pm in Lyle Dunbar Gym following the girls championship game between Christian County and Hopkinsville which begins at 6 pm.
