Hopkinsville man arrested following KSP pursuit

The Hopkinsville Police Department has released some information about a pursuit that ended in the arrest of a Hopkinsville man on several gun charges Tuesday night.

According to the police report, officers responded to the area of East 21st Street for reports of shots fired and while on the way to the area, they observed Kentucky State Police Trooper Hunter Carroll initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle.

The vehicle—driven by 61-year old Creadell Hubbard—allegedly failed to stop and fled from police. The pursuit continued until Hubbard’s vehicle wrecked near the dead end of Babb Lane.  Hubbard was allegedly in possession of a stolen .40 caliber handgun and an AR-15 rifle, although he is a convicted felon.

Hubbard was arrested and charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, using restricted ammo during commission of a felony and receiving stolen property.

Hubbard is facing additional charges of first-degree wanton endangerment, fleeing or evading police, reckless driving, criminal mischief and multiple traffic violations from KSP.

It has not been confirmed if this incident is related to the shots fired call.
