A car crashed into an unoccupied building Sunday afternoon on College Street in Clarksville, killing the driver.
It happened about 3:30 p.m., according to Clarksville Police, who say 32-year old Donta Peterson had been headed south when he crossed the northbound lanes for unknown reasons and struck the building at 1320 College.
Peterson was taken to Tennova Health Hospital and was pronounced deceased.
The incident marks the first traffic fatality in Clarksville this year.
