Clock ticking on hopes for pension reform

Tuesday is the last day legislation can be filed in the Kentucky House and the clock is ticking on any potential compromise on pension reform.

Senator Whitney Westerfield of Christian County says there’s broad pension reform and then there’s giving relief to quasi-governmental agencies that will suffer if their required contribution goes up at the new fiscal year.

He says bills have been filed in the House and Senate to give relief to those agencies.

Without the legislation, some services from those agencies would almost certainly be lost.

The working group attempting broad pension reform has continued to meet.
