A woman and her two children were seriously injured in a home explosion Friday afternoon in Robertson County, Tennessee.
Deputies there say 34-year old Brittany Elliott turned on the gas at about noon to heat her home on Buzzard Creek Road near Cedar Hill. Elliott told police she doesn’t have a sense of smell and couldn’t smell the gas filling her home.
The residence exploded when she attempted to light her water heater about four hours later.
Elliott and her two children—six and four years old—were all taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville and were listed in stable condition.
The Robertson County Sheriff’s Department has determined the explosion was an accident.
