UPDATED: Two Todd County teens injured in crash

Both Todd County teenagers injured in a wreck Tuesday night at KY 181 and 848 in the Penchem area are in Nashville hospitals.

A spokesperson for Skyline Medical Center listed 16-year old Waylon Todd Sears of Guthrie in “very critical condition” Wednesday and an official at Vanderbilt University Medical Center said 17-year old Ethan Chastain of Trenton was in surgery Wednesday morning.

As previously reported, the Todd County Sheriff’s Office determined Sears had been eastbound on KY 848 and failed to stop at a stop sign at 181. He entered the path of a southbound tractor-trailer driven by 60-year old William Gresham of Elkton and they collided in the intersection.

Gresham was not injured.

The Todd County Rescue Squad and Guthrie Fire Department assisted at the scene.
