New traffic signal on Bypass to be put in flashing mode Wednesday

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to place a new traffic signal in flashing mode on US 68-Eagle Way Bypass in Hopkinsville at the Pennyrile Parkway Exit 6 Interchange.

The flashing mode will start on Wednesday. This new traffic signal at the end of the Pennyrile Parkway northbound exit ramp at Exit 6 will remain in flashing mode for approximately one week to allow motorists to become familiar with the location and prepare for full activation of the traffic signal.

The signal is along the US 68-Bypass at mile point 6.5, about a half mile west of the US 68 and US 41-Alternate intersection in Hopkinsville.

Weather permitting, the KYTC plans to put the signal into full Green-Yellow-Red operation sometime on Monday morning. Motorists should be alert for changes in traffic flow the new signal will create at the interchange.
