A Morgantown woman has been arrested for allegedly scamming a Logan County family out of cash in December.
The warrant for felony reckless exploitation of an adult alleges that on December 28th, 43-year old Janice Michelle Leek of Morgantown went to a home in Logan County and told a couple that their family was about to be evicted by their landlord if they didn’t write her a check for $450.
The couple wrote the check, but became suspicious and the Logan County Sheriff’s Department determined the check had been cashed the following day at a bank in Russellville.
Leek was already in the Christian County Jail Sunday for probation violation and Hopkinsville Police served her with the Logan County warrant.
