Murray police arrest man on multiple sex crimes

The Murray Police Department has arrested a man on multiple charges in relation to complaints of sexual abuse.

According to a news release, officers arrested 20-year old Joseph Costilow, also known as Joey Amacher, last Wednesday following investigation of a female juvenile who said she had been sexually assaulted by Costilow. Investigation into social media sites and other outlets determined that Costilow had been in contact with multiple female juveniles.

The warrant of arrest for Costilow was for 4 counts of distributing matter portraying sexual performance by a minor, 5 counts of promoting a minor under 16 in a sexual performance and 5 counts of possession of matter portraying sexual performance by a minor.

During executive of the warrant, officers allegedly discovered multiple items of drug paraphernalia, marijuana and a handgun that had been reported stolen. He was charged with trafficking of marijuana, receiving stolen property, and possession of drug paraphernalia and lodged in the Calloway County Jail.

On Sunday, Costilow was served with a warrant for an additional 6 counts of distributing matter portraying sexual performance by a minor, 6 counts of promoting a minor under 16 in a sexual performance, and 6 counts of possession of matter portraying sexual performance by a minor.
