Hopkinsville defeats UHA in girls action while Christian County loses to McCracken County

Hopkinsville routed University Heights 68-44 in 8th district action at Blazer Gym. The Lady Tigers jumped out to a 16-3 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back. Jayla Rose led Hopkinsville with 25 points as four Lady Tigers were in double figures with Bre Oldham adding 12, Yogi McKnight pitched in 11 and Donisha Flowers had 10. The Lady Tigers are now 15-13 and finish district play 4-2 and will host Henderson County Tuesday night.

Lily Hendricks led University Heights with 12 points, Meghan Adams added 10 and Alex Juckett scored eight as the Lady Blazers fell to 13-12 overall and conclude district play 2-4. UHA hosts Dawson Springs Tuesday night.

Christian County got 17 points from Aaliyah Hampton and Kinara Phillips added 16 but fell to McCracken County 64-54 at the Independence Bank Valentine’s Shootout in Murray. The Lady Colonels are now 15-9 on the season and welcome Webster County Tuesday night.
