First United Methodist Church has announced the hiring of a new daycare director as the facility plans to reopen Monday.
The church says Cindy Dougherty “is a person of impeccable character and competency,” and calls her “a highly skilled educator and administrator with tremendous experience.”
The church says it has confidence in her ability to lead the daycare “with excellence and to create a safe and loving environment for every child.”
The former director resigned following the arrest of a former employee on child abuse and wanton endangerment charges related to alleged incidents that happened at the facility.
