Four people are facing drug-related charges following a search of a North McPherson Avenue home Monday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police Officer Tyler Hancock saw 35-year old Tommy Powers of Hopkinsville standing outside 142 North McPherson and knew him to be wanted on multiple warrants. Powers ignored commands to stop and went back inside the home, according to a report, which says the homeowner gave consent to search the residence.

Powers eventually reemerged from the home and officers found a baggie of methamphetamine on top of a refrigerator next to the door where had had gone inside.

Officers also located 35-year old Jack McLendon of Hopkinsville at the home and a computer check showed he was wanted on a warrant for probation violation. A search of his person revealed methamphetamine and a meth pipe in his pocket.

Thirty-eight-year-old Dawn Marie Smith of Hopkinsville claimed ownership of a loaded syringe in the home and 34-year old Kayla Hill of Totz, Ky. allegedly had a syringe, pipe and metal spoons in her purse.

Powers, McLendon and Smith were all arrested for meth possession and Hill was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Powers was additionally served with the warrants for probation violation and for failing to appear in court.
