Fowler wins Phoenix Open, Thomas finishes third

Rickie Fowler stumbled to a three-over 74 in Sunday’s final round but held on to win the Waste Management Phoenix Open by two strokes. Fowler finished 17-under-par at the TPC Scottsdale to earn his fifth career PGA Tour victory.

Branden Grace carded a two-under 69 on Sunday to finish two shots back at minus-15. Louisville area native Justin Thomas was third at 14-under, while Bubba Watson, Matt Kuchar and Chez Reavie tied for fourth place at minus-12. Defending champion Gary Woodland shared seventh place with two others at 11-under.

Kentuckian JB Holmes tied for 26th at seven under par with Nashville’s Brandt Snedeker tying for 55th at two under.
