Crofton man arrested on multiple charges

An investigation on Dawson Springs Road Saturday led to the arrest of a Crofton man on multiple crimes.

Deputies were notified of a man acting suspicious while standing next to a fire at a home near the water tower on Dawson Springs Road about 2:20 p.m. Saturday, according to an arrest citation, which says 51-year old Donovan Stokes of Crofton fled on foot when police arrived.

A computer check showed Stokes was in violation of an emergency protective order by being at the home.

A K9 was called to the scene, but deputies were not able to locate Stokes.

Deputies learned his location about seven hours later and he allegedly tried to flee out of a rear door of a residence when confronted. He was immediately detained and gave consent to search the home.

The report says deputies located Lortab pills wrapped in a cigarette wrapper next to Stokes’ bed.

He was arrested and charged with fleeing or evading police, violation of an EPO, possession of opiates, prescription pills not in the proper container and public intoxication.
