A Guthrie man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting Friday night in Montgomery County a few miles south of the state line.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office investigated and says the incident occurred in the 4000 block of McGregor Road at approximately 6:18 p.m.
Investigation led to the arrest of 18-year old Matias Dudley of Pennyrile Court, Guthrie at a Holiday Drive location in Clarksville.
Witnesses said the victim, who was also a Guthrie resident, approached a vehicle Dudley was a passenger in when he opened fired. The victim’s name has not been released.
As the victim attempted to flee for his safety, Dudley exited the vehicle and pursued the victim on foot. Dudley continued to fire multiple rounds at the victim, fatally wounding him.
Police say Dudley and the victim knew each other and it is not a random incident.
Kentucky State Police and the Clarksville Police Department assisted in the investigation.
