Several area schools are operating on a delay this morning after light wintry precipitation moved through parts of the region overnight and this morning.
Trigg County Schools are opening one hour late, while schools in Dawson Springs and Caldwell County schools are on a two hour delay. Muhlenberg and Hopkins County Schools are closed and Madisonville Community College is operating on a two-hour delay.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 9 a.m. for areas north of Christian County, including Hopkins, Muhlenberg and Caldwell counties.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet reports bridges and overpasses are very slick in Caldwell, Hopkins and Muhlenberg counties. Trucks are out treating roads in those areas.
No problems have been reported in Christian County, where temperatures have been above freezing.
