There are now up to 15 potential cases of Hepatitis A in Christian County.
Amanda Bassingthwaite with the Christian County Health Department says there was one confirmed case, 12 probable cases and two suspected cases, as of January 19th.
Hepatitis A infection is associated with poor sanitation and hygiene and is transmitted through ingestion of contaminated food and drink or through direct contact with an infected person.
Good handwashing practices can go a long way in preventing the spread of Hepatitis A and vaccinations are also available at the Christian County Health Department.
