Nashville Predators forward Austin Watson was suspended by the league indefinitely Tuesday and admitted into Stage 2 of the NHL’s substance abuse and behavioral health program. In a statement from the league, the suspension is “releated exclusively to Watson’s ongoing issues with alcohol abuse”.
The 27-year-old Watson had been suspended for the preseason and the first 18 games of the regular season after pleading no contest to domestic abuse this summer. The Predators return to action following the NHL All Star Break Friday at the Florida Panthers.
