The NCAA football rules committee is considering changing the overtime format with the hopes games will not go beyond two extra possessions for each team. One idea that will be discussed is going to a 2-point-conversion shootout after teams have played two full overtime possessions. Another is eliminating extra points in OT and forcing teams to go for 2 starting with their first possession.
