Jury questionnaire to be allowed in capital murder case

A larger than normal jury pool will be called in May when a man accused of murdering two Fort Campbell soldiers is set to begin a trial.

Jeremy Demar allegedly shot and killed his estranged wife, Priscilla East, and Christopher Hoch at a home on Arkansas Avenue in Oak Grove in February of 2017. He could face the death penalty, if convicted.

Audrey Woosnam represents Demar and filed a motion to request the entire evidence lab report from Kentucky State Police, instead of the summary report she’s received so far.

She also wanted members of the jury pool to complete a questionnaire and have it returned 60 days before trial.

Circuit Judge John Atkins had no problem with using a questionnaire similar to one used in a previous capital murder trial in Christian County, but says getting it done two months in advance isn’t possible.

The judge also intends on calling additional jurors to report in May.

Demar is charged with two counts of murder, first-degree burglary, fourth-degree assault and attempted murder.

Trial is scheduled for May 20th.
