Christian County Relay for Life got their annual fundraising campaign well underway Saturday morning by raising $2,300 at the kick-off pancake breakfast.
Attendees were served sausages, juice, coffee and plenty of pancakes, with organizer Pam Futrell saying they had such a stellar turnout that at one point they ran out of syrup.
She says that the money raised will stay local to support those battling cancer in multiple ways, including rides to treatment services, medical research and more.
Futrell encourages anyone who wants to get involved with Relay for Life to either call her or go online to register a team or a survivor for the Christian County Relay.
The relay will take place June 7 at the Stadium of Champions, starting at 6 p.m. that evening. This year’s theme is “Relay Through the Decades” and to stay up-to-date on what events are upcoming or how to donate or participate, like Christian County Relay for Life on Facebook.
