Montgomery Co. SO promotes first female patrol sergeant

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department has promoted its first female patrol sergeant.

Sgt. Shanna Grice began her career with the sheriff’s office in February, 2006 as a Victim Witness Coordinator with the Domestic Violence Unit.

She transferred to the Patrol Division as a Deputy in February 2013 and was promoted to corporal in 2016. She made history this month when she received the promotion to sergeant.

Also promoted to sergeant is Derrick Carroll, who has 16 years of service with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. He’s been in the patrol division since 2007.
