Trial date set for Kenwood Drive murder suspect

A trial date was scheduled in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday morning for the man accused in the May, 2017 shooting death of Kristofer Armstrong.

Attorney David Rye represents 25-year old Sergio Del Angel and said that while he’ll continue to have discussions with Commonwealth’s Attorney Rick Boling, he thought it best to go ahead and set a trial date for this summer.

Boling didn’t object and Circuit Judge John Atkins decided they’ll call the August jury in a little early and start the trial on the last Monday of July.

Del Angel allegedly shot Armstrong on the front porch of his Kenwood Drive home and he’s charged with first-degree murder.
