Oak Grove woman hurt in US 41-A collision

The Christian County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a wreck that injured an Oak Grove woman Tuesday afternoon.

According to the report, the wreck occurred at the exit 86 off ramp of I-24 onto US 41-A. A vehicle operated by 22-year old Ethan Burnham of Burkesville was traveling northbound in the left lane of US 41-A and approaching the intersection.  He reportedly attempted to apply his brakes and they failed, making him unable to stop.

He reportedly attempted to swerve right to avoid a collision, but struck a vehicle operated by 25-year old Veronica Pugliese of Oak Grove while she was trying to proceed through the intersection with a greenlight.

They collided, traveling another 50 feet north of the intersection before coming to a stop.

Pugliese complained of pain to her chest, face and the left side of her body and she was taken to Tennova Health Hospital by private vehicle. Burnham was not injured and everyone involved was wearing a seatbelt.
