Road conditions are much better this morning than they were yesterday at this time, but motorists are still urged to allow some extra time and to use caution on their commute.
City, county and state road crews were busy Sunday plowing and treating snow-covered roads and a little bit of sunshine helped with those efforts.
What didn’t help was another round of light snow last night that coated some roads that had been cleared. Motorists should also be on the lookout for black ice from re-freezing of moisture this morning—especially on bridges and overpasses.
Dispatchers in the area didn’t report any weather-related accidents overnight.
All area schools were already dismissed today in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
