There’s a new development in the KHSAA Board of Control’s vote earlier this week on making changes in the KHSAA playoff format. According to a Tweet from Danville head coach Clay Clevenger, a group is expected to meet with KHSAA Commissioner Julian Tackett next week.
Clevenger is asking input this weekend via email from all coaches in the state regarding the first two weeks of the playoffs. During Wednesday’s KHSAA Board of Control meeting, the board voted to have intra-district play in the first two weeks of the playoffs beginning with the 2019 season.
Coaches across the state say they were not allowed any input into the plan the Board of Control approved. The measure also calls for playoff games in weeks three and four be determined by an RPI based on strength of schedule.
