Riley Fort named Distinguished Young Woman of Kentucky

Hopkinsville High School senior Riley Fort has been named Distinguished Young Woman of Kentucky.

After winning the Christian County competition in September, Fort competed against 30 young ladies from across the state this weekend.

Each participant competed in the categories of fitness, interview, scholastic, and self-expression, according to a news release.

Fort won first overall in Self-Expression and Interview and was the Overall winner.  She has now earned over $10,000 in cash scholarships through the local and state programs.

She will represent Kentucky and travel to Mobile, Alabama in June to compete for the title of Distinguished Young Woman of America, a share of more than $125,000 in cash scholarships and millions in college scholarships.

Riley is the daughter of Kerry and Beverly Fort.
