WKU’s Sanderford and UK’s Still nominees for Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame

Former Western Kentucky Lady Topper head coach Paul Sanderford is a finalist for induction into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame.

The North Carolina native won 365 games in 15 seasons as WKU head coach and his team’s made three appearances in the NCAA Final Four (1985, 1986 and 1992) with the Lady Toppers playing in one national championship game in 1992 against Stanford. He also coached at the University of Nebraska.

Also nominated in this year’s class is former Kentucky player Valerie Still. Still scored 2,763 points in her Wildcat career from 1979-1983. The inductees will be announced next month with induction to be held in early June in Knoxville, TN.
