Cayce Mill celebrates 100 years

Cayce Mill Supply Co. is celebrating 100 years of serving customers in western Kentucky and across the country.

The family-owned distributor of plumbing, electrical, HVAC and industrial products employs 90 people and is headquartered on Pembroke Road in Hopkinsville.

Fifth-generation owners B.J. Cayce, the CEO, and Bart Cayce, the company president, oversee the business with guidance from their father, Breck Cayce—according to a news release from the company.

Breck Cayce’s great-grandfather, Clinton Cayce, established the company in Hopkinsville in December 1919 and initially sold supplies to grain mills, saw mills and farmers. Next in the family line of owners was Granville Cayce Sr., and then his son, Granville Jr., who was Breck’s father.

In the 1950’s Cayce Mill decided to focus on electrical, plumbing and HVAC products.

One of the most significant changes for Cayce Mill came in late 2004, when Breck announced the company had purchased the former Phelps Dodge facility on U.S. 41.

Breck Cayce sums it up, saying “Seeing the business thrive through five generations and over 100 years is a dream come true for the Cayce family.”
