Hopkinsville Police are investigating a burglary and assault from Monday afternoon on Holley Street.
The female victim told police that her ex-boyfriend who had been watching her movements for the last couple days kicked in the door to her home and assaulted her, taking her cell phone as she was calling for police.
The woman was not seriously injured in the incident and the suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival. There was an emergency protective order for the suspect to stay away from the victim, according to the report.
