The Knoxville News Sentinel announced earlier this week Tennessee coach Rick Barnes was named its Sports Person of the Year. Barnes led the Volunteers to an SEC Championship last season and now in his fourth season, the coach has his team ranked third in the nation and sporting an 11-1 record heading into Southeastern Conference play against Georgia Saturday. Barnes and his wife, Candy, are also involved in several philanthropic causes throughout the Knoxville area.
