The slight risk of severe weather continues for today across western Kentucky and middle Tennessee.
The National Weather Service in Paducah says severe weather will be most likely before 3 p.m., when a line of thunderstorms could move through the area. Damaging winds will be the primary threat but the possibility of tornadoes cannot be ruled out. Locally heavy rain will also be a hazard along with lightning.
Western Kentucky also has a Wind Advisory until 6 p.m. with wind gust of 15 miles per hour to 30 miles per hour possible, with some gusts reaching up to 40 mph.
The rain is expected to dissipate in the evening with midnight expected to be dry as people ring in the New Year.
