Alleyne chosen as New Era editor

The Kentucky New Era has promoted Zirconia Alleyne as its new editor.

She assumed those duties Friday, according to a story on the front page of Saturday’s paper.

The 29-year old Alleyne is a graduate of Hopkinsville High School and Western Kentucky University and has worked at the New Era since February of 2013—most recently serving as features editor.

Publisher Brandon Cox is quoted as saying Alleyne was the obvious choice to lead the newsroom.
