Todd Circuit Judge Tyler Gill gave the oath of office to newly elected Elkton mayor Arthur Green and city council Thursday night in the Historic Courthouse.
Green is a former Todd County judge-executive and will assume his duties as mayor, effective January 1st. He says he’s honored to serve, but also feels a great responsibility to the town’s citizens.
George Orr is the only new member of city council and says he’s going to spend his time early on learning as much as possible.
Orr is joined on Elkton City Council by Danny Laster, David Powell, Frank McReynolds, Michael Case and Doug Gibson.
Mayor Jackie Weathers decided to not run for a second term in this year’s elections.
