A Hopkinsville man sought on a warrant was arrested Friday night and is facing new charges related to marijuana allegedly found in his vehicle.
Hopkinsville Police stopped 32-year old Gabriel Wallace of Hopkinsville after seeing him fail to use a signal to turn from Seventh onto Mechanic Street at about 10:40 p.m., according to an arrest citation, which says Wallace attempted to elude the officer by turning onto several side streets.
Wallace stopped on East Second Street and police say there was a strong odor of marijuana coming from his car. A computer check revealed he was wanted on a warrant for failing to appear in court and a search of the car allegedly turned up several ounces of marijuana, a digital scale and $1,000 in cash.
Wallace is charged with trafficking in marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to use a signal—in addition to being served with the warrant.
