Festival of Trees underway in Hopkinsville

The Pennyroyal Center’s Festival of Trees is now underway, which means the War Memorial Building in downtown Hopkinsville is filled with lights and Christmas cheer.

Thirty-three uniquely decorated trees are filling the space and Robert Webb with the Pennyroyal Center says the weekend will be full of fun activities and competitions, with doors closing at 8 p.m. Friday and opening back up Saturday morning at 9 a.m.

He says people can vote for their favorite trees and for $1 per ticket you can enter a raffle to win your favorite tree to take it home.

Webb says all the proceeds raised from the Festival will go to benefit Trace Industries to help them acquire a much-needed vehicle.

Tickets are $4 for adults, $2 for children and kids four years of age and under get in for free. There are discounts for military and first responders.  The Pennyroyal Center began hosting the Festival of Trees last year and Webb says they plan to continue bringing the event to Christian County.
