Kentucky State University has parted ways with head football coach John L. Smith after three seasons. He was 7-17 during his time with the Thorobreds including a 0-10 record this season which saw Kentucky State play in the FE Whitney Classic at the Stadium of Champions. Smith also served as head coach at Louisville, Michigan State and Arkansas.
