Festival of Trees begins Friday

The Festival of Trees, hosted by the Pennyroyal Center, will return to the War Memorial Building on Friday and Saturday.

Appearing on WHOP, Robert Webb with the Pennyroyal Center says the festivities will begin at 3 p.m. on Friday and people can come admire the 35 different trees and other activities.

He says the fun continues on Saturday with ugly sweater competitions, cookies and story time with Mrs. Claus.

He says new this year will be ‘Letters to Santa’ and Rudolph’s coloring station. People will be able to vote for their favorite trees by entering a raffle and the winners of the drawing will get to take that tree home.

Webb says all proceeds will go to benefit Trace Industries in their efforts to purchase a new vehicle.

Tickets are $4 for adults, $2 for children and kids four years of age and under get in for free. The festival will open back up at 9 a.m. on Saturday and Webb urges everyone to come enjoy the many Christmas activities that are taking place that weekend.
