South Warren won its second Class 5-A championship in defeating defending champion Covington Catholic 20-16 Sunday at Kroger Field in Lexington. The win for the Spartans ended a 29 game win streak for Covington Catholic and South Warren was one of two teams to complete the 2018 season undefeated. Beginning in 2019, South Warren, Bowling Green, Greenwood and Christian County will make up Class 5-A’s District Two in the 1st region.
