At the Commonwealth Gridiron Bowl, both games on Friday were nailbiters. In the Class A game, Beechwood held off Pikeville 21-20 and in the Class 3-A contest, Central edged Corbin 20-19.
Today’s games: Mayfield meets Christian Academy-Louisville in the Class 2-A championship at 12 noon Hopkinsville time at Lexington’s Kroger Field, followed by Franklin Simpson and Johnson Central meeting in the Class 4-A game for the third consecutive year at 3:30 pm and Male goes against Scott County at 7 pm in the Class 6-A title game.
