Just under 1,500 runners and walkers flocked to Founders Square in Hopkinsville Thanksgiving Day morning to set out on the annual Turkey Trot 5k.
Mayor Carter Hendricks says relatively favorable weather helped bring in the large field of participants.
The annual event also helps raise money for upkeep of the Hopkinsville Greenway.
Many participants brought dogs to trot along with them and several wore costumes they were able to exhibit in contests before the trot.
