The Courier Journal has released its regional picks and top players in each of the 16 regions.
Boys: University Heights is the pick to win the 2nd region, with Hopkinsville second, Madisonville third, Christian County fourth and Webster County fifth.
UHA’s KyKy Tandy was selected as the top Boys player in the 2nd region, with Hopkinsville’s James Nicholas fourth, UHA’s TaQuan Hollowell sixth and Hopkinsville’s Jamrion Sharp eighth.
Mayfield was picked to win the Boys 1st region title, Breckinridge County to win the 3rd region and Warren Central in the 4th region.
Girls: Defending champion Webster County is first followed by Christian County, Henderson County, Hopkinsville and Caldwell County in the top five with University Heights 10th.
Christian County’s Aaliyah Hampton is the top player with Jayla Rose of Hopkinsville 4th, Christian County’s Trinitee McGee sixth and Hopkinsville’s Breon Oldham is 10th.
Calloway County was selected as the 1st region winner, Owensboro Catholic is the 3rd region pick and Barren County is the choice in the 4th region.
