Rocky Adkins has jumped into the race for Kentucky governor.
The House Minority Leader joins Attorney General Andy Beshear in the Democratic primary for the chance to challenge Republican Governor Matt Bevin in 2019.
Adkins made the announcement in Morehead in the district he has represented for more than 30 years.
He focused on pension, saying state workers and teachers deserve to receive the pension they earned.
His running mate is Stephanie Horne, an attorney and member of the Jefferson County Board of Education.
