Hopkinsville Police Chief Clayton Sumner and Hopkinsville Fire Department Chief Freddie Montgomery have both received state appointments by Governor Matt Bevin.
According to a news release, Chief Sumner was appointed to the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council as the chiefs of police representative and will hold the post until July 1, 2020. The Kentucky Association of Fire Chiefs Executive Board appointed and endorsed Hopkinsville Fire Chief Montgomery as its new Second District Vice President.
Mayor Carter Hendricks says, “We are so excited to congratulate Fire Chief Montgomery and Police Chief Sumner on such well-earned appointments. We are confident that each chief will represent Team Hopkinsville well, bringing a wealth of experience, knowledge, and energy to their respective new posts.”
